Stay Calm & Carry On

Do you ever feel completely overwhelmed, stressed to your max and unable to cope with the daily stressors of your life? Well....I sure do. In fact at one point in my life I suffered so heavily from stress and anxiety that I would literally hide in my bed when the phone rang or someone knocked at the door. Most days I couldn't muster up the courage I needed to leave my house. Even grocery shopping had to be done on a "good" day in the smallest and quietest store I could find. I found myself unable to sleep, work and function at all. Life became a quest for calmness and peace. I had just been diagnosed with PTSD after being a paramedic for 11 years. The world felt unsafe....so I hid in my house...hoping that chaos and tragedy wouldn't find me there.

Since then I have found healing in many different forms. I have also learned a lot about the human "fight or flight" mechanism and how it can negatively effect our ability to cope with everyday stressors when it is stuck in over-active and over- stimulated mode. I now can be a part of that healing process for others who also suffering from stress, anxiety, insomnia and PTSD.

As a Reflexologist I have learned how pressure points on the feet are used to calm the sympathetic nervous system and to bring it back into normal functioning. Many of my clients are finding relief and are able to not only function but enjoy life again. I'm grateful for the opportunity to play a roll in the healing that takes place.
